Loyalty platform selection guide
Most loyalty platforms optimise for launch speed. The ones worth committing to optimise for what the program can learn and what it can control.
Selection criteria we apply
These are the criteria we weigh in real selection work. They are ordered by how often they decide the outcome.
- Mechanic flexibility: can the program reward behaviour that is not a purchase?
- Data direction: does member behaviour flow back into the customer profile, or stay locked in the plugin?
- Margin control: how precisely can reward cost be capped and modelled?
- Surface coverage: web, wallet, app and, where relevant, in-store staff tooling.
- Identity handling: does membership resolve to the same customer record as commerce?
- Program governance: who can change earning and redemption rules, and is it auditable?
How we form a view
We assess platforms through implementation work: builds, migrations and day-to-day operation in client accounts. We do not run a lab, we do not accept payment for placement, and we do not rank tools we have not touched.
Shortlist and per-tool verdicts
The per-tool verdicts in this category are being written up from delivery notes.
SOURCE REQUIRED · Each verdict requires named-reviewer operating evidence and a review date before it is published here. Reviewed tools carry that record on their own page.
